3. Statement of your professional objectives for the program and certification(s) if any.

I would like to expand my learning in technology for the purpose of educating my students and fellow teachers in my district.  This trend of technology in the schools is growing rapidly.  Technology seems to be in all fields such as the medical, economic, and entertainment industry.  I am amazed that the Internet has broadened our resources to educate ourselves and has made it easily accessible to everyone of all ages.  Facebook, one of my favorite sites, has connected me with my old high school friends and kept me in touch with my family of whom all live in Idaho.  It also helps agencies to collaborate and communicate with one another for current or upcoming information.  The institutions such as universities, now all have forms or paperwork online for faster processing.  I recently enrolled my son in college and everything was online.   Everything was mostly taken care of through emails and online forms such as admissions, financial assistance, on-campus housing, work and learn application as well as parent and student loans.  Today, our society is living a very different life and we need to adjust to the next generation and meet their needs to this growing epidemic of technology world wide if we want to compete globally.

4. Experiences other than formal course work necessary or desired to achieve your objectives.

My goal is to become familiar with technology resources that will help my students become more successful in the classroom.  I was involved in a teacher grant that helped teachers incorporate technology in the classroom.  I overcame my fear of breaking a computer or using it.   I have learned to make slide shows, power points, use podcasting with Garage Band.   I want to help students get ready for college by exposing them to conduct their own research and do research papers.  I want to better prepare students for what the future holds for them.  I know that when I went to college, I struggled.  I was naïve and went in blindly because I was a first generation college student in my family.  I feel that I was not prepared at all and did not blame my teachers because school was evolving so quickly.  I was nervous and anxious because I did not know what to expect and felt like I had to sink or swim.  I became a swimmer due to my determination to change my living circumstances of living in poverty.  I want to open the eyes of many of my students who live in poverty to inspire and motivate them to become successful in their lives doing something they love to do instead of doing something they have to do to make ends meet.

5.  Check the box that corresponds to the method of final existing examination that will document that you have achieved your professional objectives.  Enter the anticipated Semester and Year for the selected method and initial the form in the spaces provided.
